Lord Shiva also known as Mahadeva, Shankara, Someshwara, Bholenath etc is known by many names by its devotees in sanatan dharma. Hindu god Shiva is one of the principal deities of Hinduism and is considered as the Supreme Being in Shaivism which is one of the major traditions within Hinduism. Shiva is husband of Goddess Parvati and sons Kartikeya and ‎Ganesha.

Lord Shiv ji is the primal Atman (Spirit, self) of the universe and is known as Adiyogi Shiva according to Hindus. Shiva has the serpent (Naga) around his neck with adorning crescent moon, the holy river Ganga flowing down from his matted hair. He has that third intuitive eye on his forehead, the trishula or trident, as his primary weapon, and the damaru drum which he always carries with himself. In all the weekdays Mondays are dedicated to worshipping of Lord Shiva, who is also known as Vaidyanath or the master of medicines according to Ayurveda and Atharva Veda. If one offers prayers and recite mantra of Lord Shiva on Monday and other auspicious days , then one can overcome stress, anxiety, ill health, fear and even death.

Lord Shiva Mantra invokes within the sacred shiva tattva which has the capacity to immobilize, annihilate and destroy the evil and the enemies from your life or spiritual path. Divine Shiva Mantra is also called many devotees as the 'Raksha Kavach Mantras' as it protects the devotees from all the dangers, threats and ghouls. One can chant of Shiva mantra with faith and devotion on Chaturdashi day which is considered very powerful and auspicious.

Mahashivratri is the festival which is celebrated in March every year dedicated to the worship of Lord Shiva. Shiv linga represents the union of Shiv and Shakti, the balance of energies masculine and feminine of the universe. It represents a higher being or pure consciousness who has no form or identity and is all-pervading in entire cosmos.
